The Start

Lukas and Lindsay met in the fall of 2018. They were both invited to the same party, met, and became fast friends. They didn’t take long to start officially dating, even though there as always been some level of argument when they became OFFICIALLY boyfriend/girlfriend. Lukas asked Lindsay a question in Czech, and Lindsay blindly said yes. It wasn’t until a few days later someone congratulated Lindsay, that she knew what the question was.

The History

Lukas is originally from Kladno, Czech Republic. Lindsay Is originally from New Prague, Minnesota and moved to Prague in the fall of 2015. Lindsay is an elementary school teacher at an international school in Prague. Lukas works as a software developer for an American tech company that had its start here in Prague. They both live with their two cats, Odin and Goose. They moved in together to immediately start working from home the day before full COVID lockdown, and the two or so years of the pandemic only helped their relationship grow stronger.

The Daily

The couple has been on a few trips together in the Czech Republic as well as a few trips around Europe. They have traveled to Poland, Copenhagen, Malta, and Portugal together over the years and hope to travel far more once all things wedding calm down.

The Engagement

Lindsay and Lukas had been talking about and planning their engagement for a few years. After receiving both Lindsay’s mom and dad’s blessing during Lukas’s first trip home with Lindsay this past summer, Lukas wasted no time asking Lindsay almost immediately after they arrived back in Prague where the ring was waiting.

Lukas planned a full day of all of the “greatest hits” dates. Lindsay, fully knowing this was the day, was so nervous and happy that Lukas popped the question in the first hour, so she didn’t have to suffer any longer. He asked her on the tallest part of a sculpture garden in Prague. After the engagement, they could enjoy the day. This is the same park they will be married in. Later that day they went to Lindsay’s favorite farmers market, went paddle boating under the Charles bridge, and had dinner and drinks at some of their favorite places. It was a perfect day.

What’s Next?

Lindsay and Lukas plan to continue living in Prague for the time being, while starting visa processes for both husband and wife to become dual citizens of the USA and the Czech Republic.

Hope you can make it
